Meet Matt

Matt Cotty, CFRE

Matt brings over a decade of nonprofit expertise, specializing in diversity fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, fund management, data analytics, strategy, and nonprofit leadership.

Currently serving as Senior Associate Director of Fund Management at Northeastern University, Matt previously led the Development team at Revolutionary Spaces in Boston, navigating a merger and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. His consultancy experience with CCS Fundraising empowered organizations to articulate their missions effectively, strategize campaigns, and showcase transformative impacts.

Earlier in his career, Matt revitalized giving models at Reaching Out MBA, Inc. as Director of Development, significantly boosting individual and corporate philanthropy. At Babson College, he pioneered alumni engagement programs and enhanced student philanthropy through the annual fund. Matt's tenure as Director of Youth Services at the LGBT Network in New York underscored his proficiency in program and grant management.

A Trustee and Vice President of the SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association, Matt spearheaded initiatives like the young alumni giving society and led regional alumni engagement efforts. Committed to advancing the field, he is a former IDEA Fellow of the AFP Massachusetts Chapter and became a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 2023.

Matt holds a BA in Psychology from SUNY Potsdam, reflecting his dedication to bridging psychology with impactful nonprofit leadership.
